Matthew's 1st "Big Break"

Well, it has certainly been an interesting week at our house. Wednesday, Mark received a call from the school nurse saying that Matthew had fallen on the playground and was upset about the fall, had a scrape on his hip, and had hurt his arm. She said he seemed well enough to go back to class, so he did. Come to find out later, he went back to class only to go to P.E. and complete a fitness challenge which included running back and forth across the gym 24 times.

His arm was hurting when he got home and he had a slight fever, but he was so tired he ate dinner and fell asleep. We woke him up to finish his homework, and put him back to bed. We went back and forth all evening on whether to get the arm Xray'd. 50/50 chance and this time we should have gone. On Thursday, Mark took him to get an Xray, then off to get a cast. Buckle fracture of the Radius (bubble near the end of the larger bone)

It has taken a couple of days for everything to sink in, no baseball, no light saber fighting, no soccer, no gymnastics. He is counting the days until October 9th.
