Dinner time on the deck last night in the rain. Tonight in the rain, we counted 14 finches at one point. Some wait in the trees for a place to land, others hover around the feeders and battle for feeding space. There is one female cardinal (or some kind of finch with a red hed) that usually joins the group. We also have one male cardinal who hangs around the yard and waits until the chaos is over to get something to eat. They definitely enjoy eating under shelter and provide dinner entertainment for all of us.
