Go Caps!

Well, I survived my first NHL game on Sunday afternoon. We packed up and went to the Verizon Center. I love going to D.C. and told Mark we will have to spend a weekend there in the spring and just explore. The kids are at such a great age to do this and it has to be a windy weekend so we can fly kites on the mall. Anywho, I rather enjoyed the hockey game. It was great to see Mark imparting his knowledge and love for the game to the boys and they got into the music, lights, and huge video screen. The hockey game was a bit boring until the third period where NJ and DC each scored a goal. NJ won with a goal at the end of OT. Booo!
Mark likes taking me now so he can watch the game and I can take photos. These shots were taken with my new Nikon D40X from the second level balcony with a 70-300 mm lens on continuous sports mode. I did crop a few in photoshop to get rid of extra ice, etc. but they turned out pretty good. I took 286 shots at the game, yikes! Mark also thinks it funny that I call the Caps star player Alexander "Over chicken" instead of Oh-vetch-kin, correct spelling Ovechkin. #8 in red.
Check out the bowed stick in this shot...
